Hello again blogosphere, I know it's been almost a month since me last post. But today I come with a new post and an explanation of where I've been. Right after my last blog post I moved departments at my full-time job, and came to the world of fragrances. I was overwhelmed and was busy learning what was going on every moment even off the clock, and that same week I was offered another move, over to the Lancome counter. I couldn't believe I was being offered my dream position at my store so quickly. The interviewing went quickly and I was given the job, with a fully paid trip to Phoenix, AZ for their training seminar, Ecole Lancome. I had about 2 weeks to prepare and figure things out so those two weeks was a total whirlwind where I thought about needing to post probably for one second. But now I can post something I didn't think I'd be able to anytime soon, what's in my travel makeup bag? The essentials, things I can't live without, things I know will impress other people interested in makeup.
Yes, it's like as stuffed as can be, granted I did move all my liquids to this bag for this post, as I didn't check a bag since Ecole is only a 3 day class.
What I'd probably call my "ride or die" face products. I think I have finally found a combo of products that finally give me to coverage and glow I have been wanting for so long.
Ok I normally switch between so many darn tools at home that I knew I needed to condense for travel. The real MVP is the ELF small tapered brush since I can use it to powder (when I do, but not for this trip), blush, contour, and highlight.
My true loves in the eye category, picking a shadow palette was the hardest, since I do truly use the Naked 3 on my daily basis, but I knew I wanted more variety and depth for my look this time so I settled on the OG and was very pleased with my choice.
My original love, the thing that really brought me into the makeup world. Lipsticks, oh how I love them, and oh how I over stuff my purse with like a dozen in my daily life. I just did not have room for that today, so I stuck with my needed ELF lip scrub and my two current favorites. I brought a pink liner as well but I can't seem to find in right now.

Sneak peak for next blog post! |
Now I'm going to just insert individual pictures of each product and let you know what they are and anything else I think you should know. Keep reading if you are interested in more details, but otherwise stay tuned for my next post, which will be sooner and featuring my newest addition to my addiction, I mean collection.

Elf powder blush palette, now I did kind of cheat here,
as there is 4 blushes in this and I only use 3 often so I
popped out the less loved and replaced it with my
preferred contour shade from Elf's powder
contour kit. Both are the light versions of the palettes.
|
|
My number one current addiction is the purple
shade in this NYX strobing palette but all of the
shades in here are so gorgoues and bright that I
couldn't give up this palette for anything. |
|
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, I know everyone and
their mothers has had this for ages and loved it,
but I finally got a sample in a Play! by Sephora box
and tried it, and yes, it is true love. I'm going to be getting
this primer (well most likely, while on my trip I found
like THE primer from Lancome so I might go for that first).
Either way this primer is as good as they say, even on my
dry sensitive skin. |
|
L'Oreal True Match Lumi is my love. I've recently
switched from full matte bases to a glowing one
and this gives me like the strongest glow and it even
comes in a pale and warm enough shade for my fair skin.
If you are thinking of switching to a glowing look I would
say go for this foundation since it's a great
formula and comes in almost every shade imaginable. |
|
Okay, I really wasn't kidding when I said
these are my ride or dies, because here is yet
another product I can't go a day without, NYX's
Dewy setting spray, I notice by the end of getting
ready I have lost some of my glow so this gets
misted all over my face for a bigger shine,
and thrown into my purse to give it a bump
throughout the day if I notice my glow fading.

Tarte Shape Tape, yes I know everyone is talking
about this right now, and I have got to say it's for a
good reason. One, it fucking covers, I haven't had a
concealer that actually covers my acne scarring like ever.
Two, like my foundation, it comes in my color. It comes
lighter than me even, I haven't used anything besides
the lightest color of face products like ever so
this is exciting. Pale girls rejoice and pick this up! |
|
Covergirl's The Super Sizer is the
only drugstore mascara that doesn't
wreck my senstive eyes, and it is so good
that I can still see my lashes with my glasses
on. Plus not smudging or flaking all day long! |
|
My one true staple in my eye makeup
routine. NYX jumbo pencil in Milk that I
use as my eye-shadow base, and Rimmel's
liner in nude for my lower inner rim, without
either of these I don't feel complete. |
|
ABH Brow Definer, I just picked this up
and I'm still not totally set on it, but it is
a more natural look then my last product.
I'll follow up with a review on this some day. |
|
My one and only MAC product, I used to
be all about MAC but as we all have I
have fallen for more brands and MAC gets
left behind often now. But my Mother-in-Law
gave me this lipstick from a LE collection
and I fell in love. It smells so good and lasts
all day, plus it's the perfect pink for me.
Maybelline Color Whisper, this is like
the most comfortable formula I have used
and honestly with a lip liner on this whisper
really does last a long time on the lips. |
And that's all for today. I didn't post pictures of the boring things (brow gel, NYX's control freak, she's wonderful) or of things everyone knows (who hasn't seen the inside of the original Naked palette?) so this wraps up my post for the week.I'm anticipating posting every/every other Saturday so stay tuned for my next post!
